Tips On Fixing A Leaky Faucet
Having a leaky faucet is about as irritating as Chinese water torture. It drips non stop and the sound will drive you up a wall in no time. Since this is such a nuisance, you may be tempted to call a plumber out immediately. However, this is a relatively easy problem that you can fix on your own. Here are some tips on repairing that leaky faucet: - Make sure you have the following plumbing supplies: washer, screwdriver, wrench, and some rags. Turn off the main water supply.
- Take your wrench and remove the nut located underneath your faucet stem. Twist it counterclockwise until it is completely removed.
- Once you have removed the handle below the faucet stem, you will see a washer held by a screw. Remove it by unscrewing it and replace with a new washer. Tighten the screws on the new washer to hold it in place.
- Reassemble everything: Tighten the faucet stem nut in its original location and replace the faucet handle.
